Hunter is doing great he is such a love and I am so grateful, and the word grateful does not cover how I feel to have him in our family.  He is my special buddy with me always, loves to swim in our lake, sniff around when we garden, go for car rides, and has made many "friends" in the neighborhood.  Every night Hunter and his Daddy have carrot snack time, and cuddles on the couch, I have to say he is a bit of a space and cover hog but we work around him.  Thanks for making it possible for us to adopt Hunter and he thanks you to as you can tell by his smile he is a lucky dog.

We wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas!

Our Adopted Rescue Dogs
It is always wonderful to get updates on our rescued dogs in their new homes.  Sometimes these updates come in after years of pet ownership, but it is always wonderful to hear how the pets and people are doing.  I hope you enjoy some of these stories and updates.
Poca, the blind English Mastiff
This picture of Poca, the blind English Mastiff is a true pleasure for us in rescue to see.  Poca, short for Pocahontas came into rescue when she was just 6 weeks old.  She was born blind, and was going to be put to sleep from the breeder because of her birth defect.  A good samaritan saved Poca's life and contacted us to see if we could find her a home.
A volunteer from Michigan Mastiff Rescue took our call and immediately made the trip to Dayton, Ohio to rescue Poca.  She kept her and has taken great care of Poca, as we can see by her picture, now all grown up!
Sorry I haven't been in touch about Bibi. She is healthy and has us trained very well, she gets what ever she wants. It has been 4 and one half years since we rescued her from you. We are very happy with her and we couldn't be happier with another dog. I hope everyone that rescues from you is as pleased as we are. I am going to try and send a recent picture of her. Thanks for putting Bibi with us.

Well, just wanted to take a moment to say Happy Holidays to you all... time certainly flys!!! It is hard to believe it's been almost three years since I adopted Max! He of course only continues to be sweeter and sweeter and more handsome!!! When I go to Lowes or anyplace that is ' pet friendly ' he is right there with me and ALWAYS commands attention from all who see him!

Below is a pic of him from Saturday... I am using it for my Christmas cards this year...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you!!!

Boris (“Bo-Bo”) was a very special boy.  When he came to our family he stole our hearts right away.  His playful spirit made him a perfect fit for us and he gave us many happy times.  Although he was called Home too soon he gave us a lot of joy.   We miss him very much, but we have many memories and we will love him forever.   Boris was a true One-of-a-Kind. – The Lundy’s

Mocha
Just wanted to give you a picture of Mocha (finally!)   I adopted her in August of 2006; I can't believe it's been over a year already since she became part of my life~and I DEFINITELY don't know what I did without her!

For the first time in her six years of life; her chronic ear issues have been resolved!!  I ended up taking her to her previous vet, as they knew her extensive history.....and have also have been frequent 'visitors' to OSU's dermatology clinic.  We're all proud how far she's come!!  She loves everyone she meets....canine AND human :o)  and is the sweetest dog I've ever had~

Thank you again for all that you do!!

In loving memory from Maddie's family:
In memory of our sweet Maddie girl. You were with us such a short time but you were so dearly loved by everyone that met you. You stole our hearts and we are so thankful to have known you. Rest in peace sweet angel girl.

In loving memory from family friend, dog rescuer, and dog lover:
You left this world way too early but you touched so many of us. I will miss you so much and I am so blessed you were a part of my life for the short time you were.
In Loving Memory of SABLE
I am devastated she was such a huge presence in my life and a very special girl. Thank you guys for giving me the opportunity to know and love her for the short time that she was with us. I have attached one of the last pictures I took of her, she was laughing at me cause I was laughing at her. This is how I will remember her, she was such a character and had such a huge heart.

Hello, this is Ben, Kristen, and Patch.  We wanted to give you an update for your website about Patch.  Patch had a wonderful Christmas.  He enjoyed being spoiled with lots of presents and love.  Patch loves to play outside in the snow and especially enjoys eating it!  We just finished celebrating his first birthday.  Patch is truly a wonderful boy.  He has really adjusted great and we want to thank you for his addition to our family.  We will keep you updated.

Sincerely,
The Bells

She was like a falling star: bright, shining, and bringing joy to everyone, but too short lived

In Loving Memory of LEXI LOCOCO
Lexi the Great Dane was a very special girl to our rescue group, as she was the first Great Dane we adopted out.  She went home on 10/17/2002 with the Lococo's, who loved her very, very much.  This beautiful "senior" picture of Lexi was taken the week of her 5th "anniversary" of being home with her loving family.  She was doing so well and so happy, and playful.  It was only days after this picture was taken that Lexi bloated and passed away before the veterinarian could save her.  Her family suffers a huge loss, and she was so loved and happy.
Hello.  It's me, Yogi (formerly Ronnie).  I left Purebred for my new home in September 2007.  Three months later, I'm all revved up for my first Christmas with my forever family.  I think my owner got me a coat because she learned that I like to nose dive into snow piles.  I've found a lot of new interests since I have been here.  My people take me to the Bark Park, where I love to chase other dogs.  And when we can't make it to the park, I settle for chasing my older but smaller brother, Maxwell, around the house.  And when we're finally tuckered out, we sleep in the sunlight all afternoon.
I just wanted to check in with my pals at Purebred, thank them for taking care of me, and for finding me a secure and loving home.

Happy Holidays!
Yogi

Caine......even though we only knew you for a few days, we saw that you were special and we loved you. We saw your pain and set you free. You were a good boy. God speed Caine! You will remain in our hearts forever!"

FOREST!!
I just wanted to give an update on Forest .  He is doing wonderful.  We have been through a few moves together, and he is always there to be “man’s best friend.”  I couldn’t have asked for a more obedient or FUN dog than him.  Even though he can be somewhat gassy at times (ha ha), he is always by my side. Literally.  Thank you so much for your valuable program and for giving me the opportunity to share my life with a great friend.

Thanks!

Bree (Brindle) and her Boxer Siblings
Although Zoe was rescued from a shelter and not Purebred Rescue, she was the best sister any dog could be to all her Mom's foster dogs for over two years.  Zoe was the kindest and sweetest dog to all the foster dogs and shared her home while they waited for their new home.

We wanted to let you know that Elliot is settling in quite beautifully! !  He has attached himself to me and my daughter Rebecca.  We have been taking him and our other dog for walks, we are teaching him how to play with toys and he has started to warm up to playing with us.  He ran into the windows and screen door when he first got to the house, but has since learned not to do that anymore.  He does not like his crate at all!!!  He thinks the cats are odd and has not quite figured them out at all.  He loves the freedom of running around the house and the first day was afraid to go anywhere without someone being with him but now he has no problems.  We are very very happy with him and we wanted to say thank you for everything.

Kindly,
Kellie

Gracie is doing so well! She loves to chase the children outside. She has adjusted so well and has her own "down" time under the couch, where she watches us. She still prefers "Mom" to anyone. Her favorite time is spent cuddling with "mom and dad" on the couch after the kids are in bed. We are so happy to have her home and part of our family. Our daughter said, "adopting Gracie was the best thing to happen all summer" at her first day of school.

It's just past 1 month and Cooper's doing well...like he's been here a year. He just went in for a vet visit (routine)...he & Mandy our 10 month old Lhasa are best buddies.
We've attached some newer pictures.

I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know how Bentley is doing.  He has settled right in and figured out quickly how to run the show.  Our training is almost complete and soon we will know all the tricks he wants us to know.  We have learned how he likes to be walked and what time he needs to eat.  We also know where his favorite spot is on the bed (and to keep it open) and that there must be a certain amount of tummy rubs given daily.
I’ve attached a couple of pictures.
Thanks again for helping Bentley pick us,
Debbie

I wanted to write you and let you know that tonight Vinnie & I passed our TDI. tests.  And we have 3 observations to do at 2 nursing homes, and 1 hospital and we will be officially a Therapy Dog Team.  And Vinnie will wear the tag TDI behind his name!

I am so proud of him.  He has come a long way than where he was almost a year ago.  And he works so hard to please me, but enjoys his job. Even though we haven't started going places yet.  He looks forward to getting "dressed" each Saturday which was usually our class time

I attached Vinnie & my picture that was taken for our TDI card. He is so happy being able to go visiting others.  And if we can provide some people with some smiles along the way.  We have made a difference. Thanks for letting me have Vinnie, he is a true blessing in our lives here.

MAXWELL WAS DEARLY LOVED BY HIS FAMILY
We are saddened to have to tell you we lost Maxwell yesterday evening, after an all too brief six years with him. We will be forever grateful to you and the Purebred Rescue Organization for bringing Maxwell into our lives.  He had so much love to share with everyone who came into contact with him in our house, neighborhood and community.  He will surely be missed by more than just his immediate adoptive family.

Here's a look at Maxwell with us this past Christmas, as the little bumble bee this past Halloween and rooting with his daddy for our beloved OSU Buckeyes this past fall.

He was surely our angel.  We know he's running pain-free now with his sister, Madison (cat) who we lost two years earlier, playing in the snow he loved and continuing his battle with his eternal tormentors, those pesky squirrels who always seemed to be just one step ahead of Max.  Go get 'em Buddy!!

Porter ... only a face a Mother could love and his new Mom, Tina,  loves him very much and so does his new best friend, tiny Lexi.  He's  very popular at the dog park too!
Toby loves his new home so much that he might just stay forever!  Lisa couldn't be happier!
When Cheetoh (black pug) arrived at his new home he was welcomed by Suzie.  It was love at first site and time to play!
When Ginger was adopted he was very happy to have a new home and now he even has his own favorite stuffed bunny to carry around!
Maizey (on the right) found a new home with Duke. She couldn't be happier to have a great new playmate and Brenda, Woody and Savannah are happy to have her join their family. It was a great fit for all!
Murray, in the back, loves to cuddle with his new sister, Riley.
Kelley (left) and Kiki - New BFFs.
Is it a mirror?  No, just two tired best friends.
Little Nano loves to sleep with Molly, his huge friend.

You guys think this is funny don't you?
Holly - Haloween 2009
Last night proved that Holly is now feeling comfortable enough in our home that she feels that it is hers.  She awoke last night and started creating a huge ruckus because she heard something outside.  After I finally woke up enough to clear my head, I investigated and found a bunch of guys robbing the house being built next door to us.  Well, long story short, the cops caught the guys.
Holly got a lot of treats and praise last night after it was all over with!

Hi! Holiday greetings from our family to the Purebred Rescue Family!  We wanted to update you on Rhubarb "Rhuby" (formally Rosie).  Rhuby has been a wonderful addition to our family!  She especially enjoys spending time with her kids,  running and chasing the ball. She still eats socks whenever possible but she's usually waaay to busy to bother.  Rhuby's extra special friend is Broccoli the cat!

We are so pleased to now be a part of the Rescue and all of the wonderful things you do.  Thank you for our puppy and happy holidays : )

Happy New Year!

We wanted to send you some updated pictures of Pricilla (now Luna) and let you know that she is happy and healthy and is adjusting nicely to our family.  Over the last few months we have discovered so many fun and charming things about Luna and have enjoyed having her as our constant companion.  She loves riding in the car, taking our daughters to the school bus stop and going on long walks.  Her real passion is playing in the snow - making snow angels and burrowing her nose in any fresh snow she finds!  Luna makes it so easy to love her, she is so easy-going and sweet.  She has traveled with us over the holidays and she makes friends everywhere we take her.

Every day we think how lucky we are to have found such a great dog for our family and we appreciate every effort you and Purebred Rescue made to make sure Luna found a good home.

We hope that 2010 is a wonderful year for you, thanks again,
Melissa Sull and the Sull family

   Christmas 2009
As the new year arrives we can't help but think back to 2009 and all the things we are grateful for.  Noel and I are so happy we had the privilege of adopting Lexi.  We adore her, she fills our home with so much joy.  She is a wonderful companion, who is full of affection and playfulness!  She has also become an excellent running partner for Noel.  We just wanted to say thank you again -- we appreciate all you do and absolutely love having Lexi in our lives. Enjoy our attached Christmas pic!

Hi, I just exchanged emails with Emily and reminded her how much with LOVE the Jack Russell we got from PRO. She asked if I had any photos and if so, to send some along to you. HA-we have millions, but, I won't bore you...here are just a few.  He really is a great dog. I honestly have never met one so good natured, he is happy all the time, one of those dogs that probably would have fit in anywhere, but, we are so lucky that you and the foster mom, Ashley were so careful to find him the right home. He gets along great with our other Jack, too!
Thanks so much!
Meg
